The presentation will examine the principles of bone grafting in the dento-alveolar region and will examine the types of bone graft materials available and their application.

 

Included will be discussion of where the different materials can be used in the dento-alveolar cavity and the advantages and disadvantages of each material in this area.

 

Dr Chang will showcase a range of cutting-edge advanced patient cases with different types of grafting, touching on cyst removal, cyst lesions, implant placements and a younger cohort in their teenage years.

 

The discussion will include the pioneering unique use of EthOss in dento-alveolar procedures, including:

 

  • Using EthOss after the removal of cystic lesions for enhanced healing

  • The differences between using EthOss with implants versus pathological excision

  • Advice for using EthOss: technique sensitive tips and techniques

About the presenter

Dr Chang is a dual qualified Dentist and Doctor, having completed dentistry at Otago, NZ in 2003 and medicine at Auckland, NZ in 2009. He pursued post-graduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery in Perth, WA, practicing in that specialty since 2018. Dr Chang has also completed a fellowship in TMJ surgery and Deformity surgery in the UK.

 

Currently, Dr Chang practices in private practice in South Perth and holds public appointments at Royal Perth Hospital, Fiona Stanley Hospital and University of Western Australia where he provides specialist services and training for maxillofacial trainees and dental students.

 

Dental implantology and alveolar bone grafting have been important parts of Dr Chang’s private practice work. This experience has been translated into training dental implantology and maxillofacial trainees and dental students.
